Catalina Island

Avalon

The town of Avalon is the main destination for visitors to the island. There are many activities to enjoy in Avalon like water sports, biking, hiking, horseback riding, golfing and kayaking. Restful visitors enjoy tours, walking on the beach or a day at the spa. There are more than 30 hotels, 35 restaurants and plenty of places to shop in Avalon.

Tours of the interior offer bountiful views and an opportunity for visitors to catch a glimpse of buffalos, bald eagles and the Catalina Island Fox while Birds of Paradise and other exotic flowers and plants line the hillsides.

The Catalina Island Conservancy a non-profit organization established in 1972 by the Wrigley Family, who purchased the island in 1919, is dedicated to the conservation and preservation of the island. The Conservancy owns and operates the Airport-in the-Sky, Wrigley Memorial and Botanical Gardens and the Nature Center. Tours of these landmarks are available.

Two Harbors

Two Harbors, located at the West end of the island is a camping, hiking and boating haven. With one restaurant and one bed and breakfast, Two Harbors is rustic and remote with access to wide open space, perfect for the outdoor enthusiast. Boaters enjoy Two Harbors because of the secluded coves and clear waters.

Throughout the year exciting events take place in Two Harbors like the White Seabass and Halibut Tournament, Summer Wine Fest, Lobster Fest and Buccaneer Days.
